3 Levels of fencing instruction
Level 1: Kids learn to fence
- This course introduces students to the fundamentals of fencing. Starting with basic introduction to movement, introduction to foil fencing, rules of fencing, and cumulating with an introduction to electrically scored
fencing bouts. - Ages 9 - 13
- No experience necessary
- This course is intended to teach the basics of fencing to adults or provide a refresher to anyone who hasn’t fenced in years. This course provides all skills necessary to participate in open fencing sessions and competitions.
- Adult fencers planning to fence during various open fencing timeslots are welcome to hone their skills at the class or fence each other concurrently to the class.
- Ages 17+
- No experience necessary
- This course continues from where level 1 ends. This course consists of focused fencing skills and concepts. This is an instruction oriented course and does not include many games or fencing bouts. We recomend all Level 2 fencers attend at least one open fencing night per week (all open fencing included with registration fee) to have an opportunity to do fencing bouts.
- Ages 12+
- Must have completed level 1 or have previous fencing experience
- This class consists of physical conditioning and advanced fencing concepts. Although considered advanced, this is where most members of the club fence and is not an intimidating setting. Level 3 overlaps with open fencing, which is an opportunity for all members to get bouts in.
- Must have completed level 1 & 2 or have other fencing experience
